3 Card Brag

There are two separate games at play in 3 card brag. The first one is the player vs the dealer, where the player will attempt to have a better hand. The other is a side game which can be bet on, this is the Pair Bonus game.

Simply put, if you get a pair, or any higher combination, you will be paid out a bonus, irrespective of the hand of the dealer.

The best hand in 3 Card Brag betting would be a ‘Prial’, which is the term used for a three-of-a-kind when playing, with the best Prial being 3-3-3. After that, it runs as standard from A-A-A down to 2-2-2.

Best Hands

The best hand in 3 Card Brag betting would be a ‘Prial’, which is the term used for a three-of-a-kind when playing, with the best Prial being 3-3-3. After that, it runs as standard from A-A-A down to 2-2-2.

Following the Prial is the Running Flush with three consecutive cards on the same suit (A-2-3 is the best Running Flush hand) while the Run is next in line ahead of the Flush. This is worth noting as it is the other way around in a traditional Five Card Poker game. That is because when you play 3 Card Brag online, the chances of getting a Run are higher than that of getting a Flush, while the reverse is true in Poker.

A Pair will trump a high card, but it is worth noting that you can get a win, even if you don’t have a high card. For example, you could be dealt a hand with a seven high card while the Dealer has a ten, yet as the Dealer doesn’t have a Queen, they can’t play meaning your Ante bet is returned and your play is pushed.
